Birds in flight:
such a magnificent sight -
wings silhouetted
by sunset light.
They’re beautiful,
But not that bright.

Look out for those who claim a bird’s eye view
Because they might have a bird’s brain too
Flying high flying low
A sloppy payload for those of us below

They will tweet that they know best
All the while feathering their nest
Proud as a peacock but dead as a dodo
Whose ancestors caught the worm years ago

You might think you own the skies
Flocking together, flying around
To whatever height you rise,
you will have to come down to the ground!

Flapping around like you’re out of your tree
Next generation born in captivity
Happy as a lark, crazy as a loon
Puffing out your chest as you toot your little tune

How you got up there we will never know
Seeds in your droppings now you’re reaping what you sow
